People Profits Principle #53

Have you ever lost one of your most experienced people only to find out afterwards just how valuable they were? Have you ever lost 2 -3 of these type of people at one time? How did it effect your organization? How much did it cost to replace them? More then what they were asking to stay? There are ways to stop this problem before it starts.

Organizations will  go through times when they are losing good experienced people. Sometimes it is not just one or two. You can begin to lose experienced people at an alarming rate. If you do not recognize it in time, you can actually have a "competency drain" that begins to snowball to the point that your entire Human Capital strategy is in danger of collapse.
