A skills gap is created when there is a demand for certain skills and not enough workers have those skills. The State of Oklahoma has a serious skills gap which government, education and private industry are working together to solve. We have enough high school, college and post college graduates. We are far short is in the skilled to highly skilled workers. 

Machinists, plumbers, welders, electricians, RNs, and many others. My entire career has been in industries where we had a skills gap. Industrial field mechanics, paramedics, machinists, machine/equipment operators (both manufacturing and heavy), truck drivers, to name a few. Every company I have ever worked for has had a skills gap in the backbone positions of the company.

Over the years I have refined a system and a process that I have named Value Pathing. The goals of Value Pathing are: 

  1. Take a warm pair of hands and develop them into what we need.
  2. Clearly identifies the Value Points along the path.
  3. Create IMMEDIATE value.
